Colostrum harvesting - consistency

Hi, I’m planning to collect some colostrum soon and have syringes at the ready (currently around 37 weeks) and just wondered a TMI Q about the consistency of the fluid that comes out? When I hand express it’s really watery at first (transparent and thin) then a thicker yellow substance (presumably the good stuff) comes through - do I collect all of it? I.e. the thin watery stuff mixed with the yellow stuff? Or just the yellow?

also is this all sounding normal 😅 thank you!

Collect all of it ☺️

I'm a little bit behind you (35 weeks) but have been thinking about colostrum harvesting. I've been leaking for months and its just the same as you describe - watery at first if I touch nipple but then yellow thick stuff follows

That's normal. Just collect all of it.

I have just started and collect all of it. It does separate in the syringe though once in the fridge/freezer!

How do you reheat it.

Jug of hot water. Or just defrost it in the fridge.
