Random bruises on legs

I have my 16 week midwife appointment next week so I shall be asking her.

Until then, I was just wondering if anyone else at my stage of pregnancy (15 weeks) had or random bruises on their legs? They are honestly appearing from no where and I'm worried.

Any insights would be great ❤️

You're likely a bit anaemic. I always get unexplained bruises when I am

They will do a blood test and rule out any clotting issues. Pregnancy alters the blood volume and can do all sorts of weird things to your body with the hormones etc, and easier bruising could be one of them. Being where it is on your body it's quite possible you knocked it without realising it as particularly painful at the time, and that's why it's bruised.

Thank you both so much for the replies. Let's hope that blood test, if they do it, sheds some light! Pregnancy comes with so many random things 🙈😂

Worth phoning the midwife now

Bruising is a platelet/clotting issue and is unrelated to anaemia. I work with people with blood disorders. You should get a quick full blood count check just to put your mind at rest.

I'd phone the midwife and GP, they'll get to the bottom of it asap! Congratulations on your pregnancy

Yup I'm thinking platlets. It's common for them to fall during pregnancy but it needs to be checked out and they may need to factor it in to the birth plan.

Okay everyone I've messaged my midwife. Thank you for the replies.

I was put on Aspirin at my 12 week appointment due to being overweight so I assumed it may have been because of that. I'll wait for my midwife to come back to me ❤️❤️
