Sorry this might be long....
I'm nearly 17w pregnant. I live on the border of 3 counties, 3 NHS trusts.
My local community mw works out of a small community maternity hospital around 40 mins away. They no longer visit the village GP practice.
I have to call an hour before any appt to check if they are ok to see me for my appt or if they are busy with labouring ladies.
I attended for my booking in appt and didn't see my designated mw (who deals with all ladies from my area) - I'm not particularly fussed but they seemed to be concerned.
They were unable to see me for my 15 week appt last week as busy with 2 labouring ladies so cancelled. My designated MW called Friday and got me completely mixed up with someone else. Talking about test results and all sorts. Had no idea of my age, previous children or history of miscarriages etc. Bearing in mind she called me she didn't have any of my details or notes to hand.
She offered me an appt today which I said I couldn't make so we made one for one day next week. She phoned today asking why I didn't turn up!
This is completely different to my first pregnancy. I'm not sure if that was because it was more city centre and a designated community midwife at a clinic with set clinic days or if it's staffing issues now or what.
My work are going to get annoyed if I'm taking time out the diary for appointments and then they get cancelled short notice.
Do I keep going as long term this mw should be easier or see if I can transfer to a different clinic in a nearby town? Though not sure if they will accept me or do home visits after birth etc.
Sorry it's so long.
