No Folic Acid Surprise Pregnancy

Just discovered that I am about 16 weeks pregnant. It is a complete shock with no symptoms whatsoever. Really worried as last pregnancy was planned, everything done correctly etc. Did anyone here have a similar situation where they didn't take Folic Acid in advance. So much to worry about and this is another thing to add to the list.

Don't worry it happens to a lot of women. I spent my third pregnancy being sick 25 times a day until I was 30 weeks - no folic acid stayed in me. Just have your scan and then you will know if everything is ok xx Congratulations x

Bread and breakfast cereal all contain plenty of folic acid. My GP reassured me with this fact

Agreeing with PP. There is enough in fortified foods to cover you, for this reason.

Thanks everyone, no I just have to worry about having csections so close together. Can't believe I am this person, old enough and wise enough to know better and it still happens. Once scan happens I will feel more comfortable with everything.
