First trimester ending?

How many weeks is classed the end of the first trimester? I see varying weeks from different sources. Ranging from 12-14? Is there an “official” week which is the start of the second trimester?

I divide 40 by 3 which is roughly 13. It says different everywhere though. I guess because there's no official length to pregnancy, it's anywhere between 38 and 42 - I sometimes go with 14 weeks as then if I go over it's easier for my head!

I was thinking the same thing I'm 13 weeks today and unsure if I'm in the first trimester still or the 2nd lol it's so confusing as Google says all different times

I would say 13 weeks is start of second trimester.

It's 13 weeks plus 0.

I’d say end of 12 weeks is end of 1st trimester

However, as you’re technically “pregnant” for about 2 weeks before you’re actually pregnant then maybe it’s easier to think of it as 14 weeks as that evenly splits the rest of the time up in blocks of when you’re actually pregnant

Sure that makes sense 😊 thanks! Xx
