Hi guys, looking for a bit of personal experience. I’m 8w6d today and I have had plenty of nausea but no vomiting yet. My mother suffered from terrible vomiting during pregnancy and I just always assumed I would be the exact same. I know that some women never vomit during pregnancy but my question is what was your experience? If I haven’t vomited yet at nearly 9 weeks am I out of the woods?

My mom vomited a lot when pregnant, I never did, but had horrific nausea from 8 weeks to birth on all 3 dc.

ShirleyPhallus · 30/07/2022 09:53

I had horrific nausea but no vomiting, but it made me wish I could vomit a bit just to get it up?

I got a prescription for cyclizine which was absolutely amazing and I’d recommend

I never vomited but has nausea off and on from start to end of each pregnancy.

rach971 · 30/07/2022 10:15

I was never sick in my first pregnancy, I had nausea for like 2-3 weeks and that was it. I'm currently just over 6 weeks pregnant now and I've had nausea for about 3 weeks. It's not been too bad and I've not been close to being sick or anything. I think some people just don't really get sick.

ChagSameachDoreen · 30/07/2022 12:49

I haven't vomited at all in either pregnancy, despite constant nausea, so you might not necessarily be physically sick.

I had a brief period very early on (5-6 weeks) of retching randomly, but they were dry heaves.

faithtrustandpixiedust · 30/07/2022 13:25

I had nausea with my first for pretty much the whole first trimester, no sickness though.
Currently just over 4 weeks with my second and am getting nausea on and off again, although mainly in the evenings, no sickness so far again so hoping it stays that way.

Everyone is different. Take each day as it comes.

DC1 - 10 weeks, after a few weeks of nausea. Christmas Day was my first day of vomiting!

DC2 - 4 weeks. It was my first symptom - walked into the bathroom for a wee one morning, retched totally out of the blue and threw up. I had a positive test late that day. I continued to vomit in the mornings until the day she was born.

DramaAlpaca · 30/07/2022 13:49

I threw up daily in my three pregnancies starting at 9 weeks, 12 weeks then 5 weeks in my last one. Constantly nauseous too, and it all finally stopped by 20 weeks.

derryrose1980 · 30/07/2022 13:52

4 weeks until the moment I gave birth with DS. Was horrendous. 4 weeks with DD but I wasn't as bad with her and it tapered off later in pregnancy. Was my first symptom.

SpottyStripyDuvet · 30/07/2022 13:57

I was nauseous from 6 to 12 weeks but never vomited. You may avoid it completely.

YouBoggleMyMind · 30/07/2022 13:59

Just a lot of nausea from 7-13 weeks, no vomiting.

Namechanger355 · 30/07/2022 14:06

now in 19th week of second pregnancy - have never vomited once

yes felt very slightly nauseous in both pregnancies - and had strong sense of smell and felt tired in that first trimester

but relatively mild symptoms otherwise and never any vomit so I wouldn’t think about it too much

Fridaysgirl17 · 30/07/2022 14:22

I had really bad nausea in both my pregnancies,I never actually vomited in my first just the horrible nausea feeling & in my second pregnancy I think I vomited twice in total but literally just vomited & that was it,my nausea was always kind of early in the day by evening it was gone

fancyfrogs · 30/07/2022 14:26

No vomiting in both of my pregnancies. Some nausea in 2nd one. You might not vomit, lots don't Smile

Nejnej2 · 30/07/2022 14:26

22 weeks today. Really struggled with nausea, never actually threw up!

LemonDrizzles · 30/07/2022 14:31

I never vomited. A little bit if nausea on and off for both. Eating helped

Fantasticfroliks · 30/07/2022 14:35

Nausea straight away. Increasing in intensity.. Peaking around 9 weeks then lessening gradually and gone by 14 ish.
I think your out the woods

YukoandHiro · 30/07/2022 14:41

First pregnancy I only actually vomited twice although I felt horrific from 6 to 14 weeks.

Second pregnancy I vomited at least twice a day til 16 weeks. It started at about 6 weeks.

Both girls. I think it was the tiredness of already having a toddler and being in lockdown while working that turned the nausea into constant vomiting.

StaceyW87 · 03/08/2022 19:03

10+3 now and been sick every day since 6 weeks 😔
With recurrent losses I begged to feel the nausea, now I regret hoping for it lol 😆 x

juliaxxl80 · 03/08/2022 19:10

I was lucky- no nausea, no vomiting , no cravings

Dipsydoodlenoodle · 03/08/2022 22:43

I had nausea for a while and then my sickness started (I can't remember when but it was early)...then I was sick until she was born!

rosemarycait96 · 04/08/2022 09:28

I'm 12 weeks and never been sick. I experienced 24/7 pretty debilitating nausea from 5 weeks onwards, but went on antiemetics at 7 weeks which did wonders. If you haven't been sick yet I'd be hesitant to say you're out of the woods, but there's a fair chance you might be. Just make sure to go to the GP if the nausea gets really intense (vomiting or not), there's things they can do to help.

JaninaDuszejko · 04/08/2022 09:33

3DC, no sickness or nausea. My Mum (4DC) was the same. All healthy pregnancies. Not everyone gets sickness but those of us who don't tend to not talk about it.
