So my husband and I are trying to have a baby and im just come on my period again, im feeling so low. I've wanted to have a baby for many years but my husband wanted to wait until we where married, every time I come on my period I get so upset and low, is this normal? Am I being over sensitive and just go with it and when it happens it happens..

It’s normal to be disheartened when you get your period and actively trying don’t worry. It’s also normal for it to take up to a year of trying to get pregnant. How long have you been trying for? Have you been tracking ovulation? Are your cycles normal?

Definitely normal to feel like that. How long have you tried for? How old are you both?

I’m sorry - hope you’re ok. It’s definitely normal to feel disappointed (I remember crying in the toilet at work once when I got my period) but it can take a while so try not to be too disheartened.

Mentioning this just in case - I was initially using a period app to tell me when I was ovulating but it turned out not to be accurate, so I wouldn’t rely on an app if you are.

If you’ve been trying for few months now then perhaps get some bloods done to check levels such as thyroid, as that can make a difference? If it’s been longer than that, then don’t delay going to GP.

I hope you manage to conceive soon.
