Private scan at 11 weeks, is it worth it?

I am roughly 10 weeks 5 days pregnant but I've been booked in for my 12 week NHS scan for when I will be 13 weeks 5 days. It feels like such a long wait to see the baby and check that everything is ok. I've considered booking a private scan for some reassurance. Do you think it is worth it? Has anyone else been in this situation before?

If you want to and you can afford it, why not?

Congratulations!

With kindness, a scan at 11 weeks may give reassurance at that moment in time but anything could still happen between scans anyway. I'd try to just enjoy the anticipation and build up to your booked scan personally.

I had private scans at 8 weeks, 10 weeks, and 11 weeks (with NIPT). If you can afford it, it's nice to see the baby. Waiting until 12 weeks feels endless!

I have a private scan tomorrow, I'll be 8 weeks. Couldn't wait till the 12 week NHS one as it just seems like forever, so hopefully this one will give me some reassurance 🤞

If you need the reassurance I'd say go ahead and book 😊

Congratulations! I did exactly the same, had a private scan at 11 weeks then NHS at 13+5. I was going on holiday in between so really wanted the reassurance before getting on a plane.

It was 100% worth it, private scans are such a wonderful experience. You can see a lot at 11 weeks too and will get photos to take away 💜
