Experience of a slow heartbeat on ultrasound?

I'm about 8wks pregnant. 9 days ago I had a scan which showed a baby measuring 6wk 0 days with a little heartbeat. I had another scan yesterday and the baby had grown to 6wks 6d but had a very slow heartbeat, so slow it was hard to see. I've been told to hope for the best but to prepare for the worst. This is my 6th pregnancy and I have one living child 😔another scan next week.

Has this happened to anyone else? I don't need good stories, I'm just trying to wrap my head around it all.

Hi,
I have, and sadly it wasn't good news. Nothing seen on first scan, had a private scan who found a tiny heartbeat (we were prepared for the worst, so it was the best feeling!). Follow up NHS scan saw very slow heartbeat which stopped the day after. I really hope for a more positive outcome though. Had the heartbeat slowed on your second scan? Flowers

Hi OP I'm so sorry you're going through this. I've also had this experience - pregnancy measured less than expected, returned a week later and it had grown and had a heartbeat but the heartbeat was really slow. I was advised that it was probably going to be bad news and the following week when I went back it had stopped. I'm sorry I don't have a better story for you and hope that you have a different result but I know when I was in that position I wanted to know the facts and searched everywhere for people's experiences. Sending you lots of luck and love - be kind to yourself and take your time to process what you're feeling
