How to date my pregnancy

Hi guys

I wonder if anyone has any experience of falling pregnant straight after a miscarriage before you had a period?

I had been using the Flo app and entered all info like when the previous miscarriage bleeding started and stopped and when DH and I did the deed etc.

Normal dating would have me date from first day of last period, however I know (because off the Flo app) when I could have conceived from. Is there a way to date from this?

If you have had this situation before, please could you let me know how you were dated by doctor/midwife?

If you have any other info relating to this experience please can you share?

Thank you x

Following! I think this is the exact same situation I'm in. I hope you find out but I will let you know if I find anything too. Smile

You don't really get dated until your 12 week scan. And they date from what they see in the scan. They will just want to know when your last period was until then.

Are you saying you know when you might have conceived? In which case, date of conception would be a fortnight before that.

I understand that they can't medically date you until your scan from when I had DD, however I was more looking for information that had been given to women in my situation surrounding pregnancy straight after miscarriage and whether the doctor have said anything different for dating?

Ah thank you for your help! If so this makes me earlier than previously thought and my symptoms seem so exaggerated compared to my last pregnancy for 5 weeks!

Take the day after you believe that you ovulated and add 2 weeks to that. That's how it's calculated via the NHS website (they assume conception on day 15 of your cycle)

I found out I was pregnant 4 weeks after I had a miscarriage, I counted from the day the bleeding started and my DD due date was only out by a day or two.
Good luck with your pregnancy.

I'm in this exact situation. Midwives are currently dating the pregnancy from the date the miscarriage started but I think this will change at my 12w scan.

@LittleLottle It feels like such a weird one because if I go by the first day of last bleeding (aka start of mc) it places me at nearly 7 weeks but I know when DH and I first started doing the deed after mc and adding two weeks to then puts me at 5 weeks.

The scan feels like an age away with so much not knowing.

I have had symptoms like tiredness sickness, dizziness, heartburn, constipation, lots of saliva (sorry tmi) for about a week and half but today they have all hit me like a train so strong. More symptoms then I ever had while pg with DD.

Congratulations with your pregnancy! And good luck with everything!

I started bleeding for my miscarriage on 4th April, got my BFP on May 3rd.
My consultant did as others have said and added 2 weeks on from ovulation which was 23rd April. So they said use 9th April as first day of last period.

PeanuttyButter · 30/07/2022 19:56

Just to add. Got scanned at 9 weeks and I was 1 day out using this method.
