Does nausea at 3 weeks = vomiting later??

I started experiencing nausea at just 3 weeks.. I'm now 4 weeks with a positive result and it's still there but now I'm scared... is it guaranteed to get worse as I progress? Should I be requesting medication in advance?

I won't see a doctor until next week coz it's the holidays where I am.

I started experiencing nausea before I even knew I was pregnant and while I was nauseous for lots of my pregnancy I only actually threw up about five times

containsnuts · 27/07/2022 01:21

Not necessarily. I was very nauseous during the week of my first missed period then nothing thereafter. I didn't throw-up once during the entire pregnancy. Congratulations btw!

Sorry I felt nausea for the whole pregnancy. It was worse with my first. But with my second it was better because I ate more - mostly biscuits or crackers in the morning. I was never sick. Congratulations. X

I had nausea pretty much constantly for the first 14 weeks but was only sick a couple of times - mainly when brushing my teeth.

I was really nauseous for the first few weeks, kept having too much saliva in my mouth and felt crap. Im now 20 weeks with baby number 3 and I’ve not been sick once during any of my pregnancies! Fingers crossed for you x

Not necessarily, I felt sick the entire first trimester but was only actually sick once or twice also when brushing my teeth. If the sickyness is really bad you can still ask for anti nausea medication but wait until you actually need it rather than in advance as you might be fine!

Ontomatopea · 27/07/2022 10:49

Not necessarily no.

I felt sick almost constantly until 16 weeks but never threw up. Really pleased as I have emetophobia so was really worried about being sick

Thank you so much for your quick replies! That's given me so much reassurance. I had only been seeing horror stories online lol.

I hope I will be as lucky as you all xxx

@Salpforyou just wondering how you came on after? I got a positive result this morning (4w exactly) after being nauseous for a few days. Like you I’m hoping this doesn’t mean I’m in for a rough few months as I absolutely hate getting sick!

EverydayIsPJday · 06/09/2022 18:20

I am expecting number 3 and have had nausea with each but no vomiting (minus the odd occasion I think associated with headaches etc). Nausea stopped at around 13/14 weeks with first two (boys), 16 weeks with this one (girl) which I find quite interesting!

Keep eating, as a pp has said. I lived off boring snacks like toast and crackers, as well as mint imperials and chewing gum to keep away the horrible metallic taste.

Goodluck OP

This won't be helpful (haha sorry) but I started feeling nauseous before my BFP at 3+3 weeks and now feel sick every day (6+1) and have been throwing up at leaaaast once each day but normally 2 or 3 times :(
I've resorted to travel sickness bands and ginger tablets this week but no luck as of yet :( haha will be speaking to my GP soon for meds.
I pray you don't get more sick xxxxx
