6 weeks pregnant and my daughter keeps jumping on my stomach

Hi ladies, I'm 6+2 today and I have a 13 month old daughter too. I'm just wondering if my daughter jumping on me and sometimes landing on my stomach will cause something bad to happen? Obviously I'm very cautious and avoid this happening as best as I can but I also don't want to push my daughter away and stop playing with her/having mummy daughter time with her just to avoid her accidentally landing on me in the wrong place. I just need some peace of mind because my daughter is a very giddy, lively little girl and I don't want her to think she's doing something wrong by telling her not to jump on me. Bare in mind she's only 13 months old so doesn't really understand anyways

@Sykosocial I wouldn't be allowing that 😕A 13 month old can understand a stern "no" and "ouch".

Try not to be in a position where she could jump on your lower abdomen....kneel or sit cross legged to play on the floor.

Probably wouldn't do any harm anyway, but why risk it.

Hi, she's not jumping on me to the point that it hurts, it's just the occasional time where she lands on me in certain ways that makes me panic for a second. 9 times out of 10 I'm just sat normally on the sofa and she could come over for a cuddle and accidentally drop herself down in the wrong place. She understands a stern no of course but in her eyes she isn't doing anything wrong because she doesn't understand that in pregnant

Please don’t worry, the baby is very well cushioned!

My DS is 15 months and definitely wouldn’t understand not to jump all over me if I was playing/cuddling him.

All you can do is try to keep her flailing limbs away as much as possible and try not to worry.

Thankyou! I just needed reassurance. I obviously don't want to be pushing her away but at the same time it worries me

Ah ok, you titled your post "my daughter keeps jumping on my stomach" which is a bit different to coming for a cuddle and accidentally landing on you in a certain way 😉

Sykosocial · 26/07/2022 11:08

I mean it's basically the same thing? She not doing it on purpose or anything. Regardless of what the title is, I wrote a pretty detailed explanation and just kept the title brief.

I think you misunderstood the post. She's not purposely running at me and jumping down knees first onto my stomach, she literally just climbs on the sofa (which is where it mostly happens) and she gets a little giddy and sometimes falls down onto my stomach by accident. I didn't know how else to briefly title the post but I think the explanation I gave was pretty clear🙂 if we're playing together then I will be sat on the floor on my knees or crossed legged. This only happens when I'm relaxing on the sofa

Ok, shouldn't be anything to worry about then!

This is nothing to worry about :)

The uterus is still below the pubic bone, so she can't cause any harm at all. Even when you are bigger, baby will be well cushioned.

I had a really bad faint when out and landed on my bump on concrete. She was fine. I was a bruised and bloodied mess.

I've had a 25kg German shepherd pup standing on my stomach countless times. Was hard to stop him as he didn't understand and would get excited. Last time he did it I was 16 weeks I think. I'm 21 weeks now and had my 20 week scan and baby was perfect. I'm sure you will be okay ☺️

Thank you everyone! This is really reassuring 🥰
