Has anyone been in this situation, what was the outcome?

I am 7 weeks 3 days from LMP, 3 weeks 2 days since the first positive. Clearblue is at 3+.

I spotting from what I thought was 6 weeks until 7 weeks so called the EPU who booked me in for a scan today. On the scan they couldn't see anything just a thick lining she said there's either 3 things going to happen.

  1. The pregnancy is too early to see.
  2. The pregnancy has not progressed and I'm going to miscarry.
  3. It's an ectopic

Has anyone had the same thing? She did say that tests are so sensitive now they can pick pregnancy up very early she has took blood and I have to go back on Wednesday to check if they have doubled.

I’m so sorry. I had the exact same thing happen - in my case it was an ectopic on my ovary (although it took over a week of repeated scans and referral to a specialist consultant to find it).
Really hope they manage to sort it for you ❤️

Kt12344 · 25/07/2022 22:30

@ButterflyGal They took bloods today got to go again on Wednesday to see if they are doubling. How far was you when they found it? X

I was six weeks when they found the empty uterus (the lady scanning me asked was I sure I was pregnant 🙈) and seven weeks by the time they worked out what was going on. It’s such a hard time waiting and having to go back for more scans and more tests.
Hope you get a good result tomorrow.

At 7+ weeks you should see a sac at the very least. They have to put it nicely to vulnerable women but chances are this is a miscarriage about to happen. Unless of course you have your dates incorrect and you are infact not as pregnant as you thought. All the best OP, I've been here, I know how dark a place it is.

Kt12344 · 26/07/2022 07:56

Thank you both. I do just have to wait and see really 😐

Just got a call from the hospital my levels are at 3760 so got to go for another scan tomorrow as they should be able to see something by now x

Good luck

ButterflyGal · 26/07/2022 19:44

Good luck. Yes, they should be able to see something after your levels hit around 1500. I’m really sorry but it probably makes it a bit more likely to be ectopic. Be kind to yourself and hope you have some nice staff to look after you ❤️

Kt12344 · 26/07/2022 19:50

@ButterflyGal Thank you I will post whatever happens in here ❤️

Fingers crossed for you tomorrow @Kt12344

Tillow4ever · 26/07/2022 20:07

Just want to wish you all the best of luck for tomorrow. Years ago I had a missed miscarriage, found out at 12 weeks I had lost twins. I wouldn't wish the feeling on anyone. I was given early scans in my next pregnancy, but told to wait til 8 weeks, as earlier they might not see anything and that could unnecessarily panic me.

So whilst I appreciate it's scary, there's still hope until you get told either way. I hope it's just too early to see for you.

Good luck!

Kt12344 · 27/07/2022 17:44

Thank you @Tillow4ever ❤️

On Monday my HCG levels were at 3760 and today that have risen to 5532 and still nothing seen on todays scan, there is fluid in my right tube but they can't tell if it is the pregnancy or corpus luteum. I thought by now no matter where the pregnancy is they would be able to see it, got to see the consultant in the morning to decide what's going to happen x

Thinking of you @Kt12344, I remember all too vividly how hard it was whilst I didn’t know for sure whether or not my pregnancy was going to be healthy/ok. It’s terrifying.

I have everything crossed for you that it turns out to be ok, but if it doesn’t and you want someone to talk to, I’m here if you do (as I’m sure many others will be).

Take care x

I had a scan at 7 weeks. They could see the gestational sac but nothing inside it. They measured me at 5 and a half weeks and told me to come back again 2 weeks later. Went again and this time I could see something but no heartbeat. Sac had almost doubled in size. Asked to go back again 7-10 days to see if the heart had started but I started bleeding a few days before. Went back in for a re scan to be told it was likely I was miscarrying as Baby had dropped right onto my cervix but I'd need to wait 2 weeks for another scan for them to confirm it. I ended up having a scan a few days later which showed the gestational sac had begun to collapse.

Kt12344 · 27/07/2022 20:21

@MayISuggestSomeThickCutSteakChipsToGoWithThat sorry to hear that, it must have been horrible to wait around so long ❤️

I’m so sorry. The waiting and waiting is so hard isn’t it. I hope the consultant can help you tomorrow.

MayISuggestSomeThickCutSteakChipsToGoWithThat · 30/07/2022 18:51

Kt12344 · 30/07/2022 19:01

How did your scan go @Kt12344? hope you got some good news x

Kt12344 · 04/08/2022 22:32

@TaVeryMuchLove unfortunately I started bleeding yesterday, the cramps have been really bad they've given me codeine to take they still wanted me to have the scan she confirmed the pregnancy was coming away and took bloods again to make sure they're coming down, she also asked if I wanted to take part in a trail that's going on for recurring miscarriages but I'm not sure if I'll be taking part yet, thank you for asking x

So sorry for your loss op ❤️. When you read these accounts having been through them yourself and knowing how awful it is, you wouldn't wish it on your worst enemy. Hope you rest and heal x.
