Pain down stomach - 39 weeks

Morning,

after having a Google and not finding much I thought I’d ask on here before ringing the hospital.

To add context I’ve had lower stomach and back cramps on and off since 34 weeks.

last night (not sure what time) I woke up with a pain in my stomach, a verticals line down my stomach from the top to bottom of bump. No pain anywhere else and bump felt tight but it like I imagined a contraction to be. I put this down to Braxton hicks as it passed in a couple of minutes, thought nothing of it and went back to sleep.

this morning, this same pain started again, about 9am but had been constant since. It’s not a cramp, note of a pain just down the front of my bump, doesn’t feel like it does all the way down to my cervix or anything. Had a short bath which eased the pain a bit but it never went away. Now 49 minutes on the pain is still there. It’s not bad enough I can’t walk or talk, but painful enough to stop me doing some things to taking the dog for a walk.

any ideas? I’m 39 weeks tomorrow

thanks :)

I would ring the maternity unit - they might want you to go in for a check. Good luck x

As PP said, ring maternity unit and go in to be checked. Could be early labour or just Braxtons

You need to be speaking to maternity triage about this, not Mumsnet. Best of luck on your impending arrival 🙂
