Is this normal? 37 weeks

Just wanting to know if it's normal to be so bloody uncomfortable at this stage? I know some women work right up to birth but I don't know how! I am 37+5 and can barely get out of bed! My stomach feels so heavy and tight, I have aches under my bump and pain in my pelvis that goes down my thighs. I can just about turn over in bed but it's hard work and painful!
Baby is quite low and all I can feel is the weight pulling down. She was over 7lb two weeks ago, OK so maybe not the biggest but the discomfort I am in is crazy! Is this just what it's like? I'm due to be induced this weekend thankfully (can't wait) but really feel for anyone who's carried multiples or goes on to 40+ weeks! Just needed to get that out! Thanks

Yes, it’s normal for many. I think it’s natures way of making you ‘want’ to go into labour, to get it over with.

Yes completely normal.
With DS at around 37 weeks I could just feel him there like his head was stuck between my legs was the sensation, if you get what I mean? 🤣. He was born at 38+3 as had an induction.

Pregnant with twins now and had sciatica since 6 weeks 🤣.

Good luck with your induction!

@KangarooKenny Well it's certainly working for me! 😂😂

I’m almost 39 weeks now and feel exactly the same. I’m miserable with it. I feel like some of the pains might be labour but then they fade away and nothing but discomfort.

My first pregnancy went to 42 weeks and I honestly cannot cope with another 3 weeks of this!

Iammeiamfree · 24/07/2022 08:06

@PinkButtercups Yes I am just aware of the weight between my legs, it's awful!
And thankyou, I just want to get in and get it done now!

Im sure sciatica so early on can't be much fun 😬 congratulations on your twins 😊 and all the best for the rest of your pregnancy!!

@ShirleyPhallus it does make you feel pretty miserable at times 😔
I think going to 42 weeks must be very emotionally draining as well as physically, I'm sure that was tough.
Hopefully you don't have too long left to go now this time though and all goes well 🤞🤞

Yes! Felt like that for me! DS was finally born at 41+4 via induction. When he came out the dr said he’d probably have been happy in there for another couple of weeks if allowed??!! (Though we had a lot of meconium). Good luck with your induction!

I only managed to get to 36+5 with my DTs, but the day I had them my bump was measuring 53 weeks pregnant. I had severe pe and I was completely thrilled to be sick because that meant I was in with a chance of giving birth and no longer being pregnant rather than having to limp on to my elcs date of 38+2.

Good luck to you, pregnancy sucks!

Borgonzola · 24/07/2022 08:29

40 weeks today and I have been huffing 'I can't do this for much longer' for about 6 weeks now...

The heavier and lower it feels, the closer you are!

Mommabear20 · 24/07/2022 08:34

Absolutely normal!! I wasn't too bad with my first but she was tiny when she was born and bump wasn't that big either, but with my second, OH MY GOD! I was miserable in the last few weeks! Luckily he came at 39+1. I'm dreading that end stage with this one! 😂

Garman · 24/07/2022 18:45

Yes it's very normal. On my third pregnancy I felt like that from about 26 weeks it was hell. When they told me she would have to be born at 34 weeks I was obviously concerned for her but I was delighted for me, I couldn't handle another minute of it 😩
