Pregnancy and UTI

Before falling pregnant I suffered with UTI all the time. I always use to think something wrong with my bladder but been told there's nothing wrong.

I am now 8 weeks and I went and got checked out for another UTI. The doctor send off my urine to lab came back I did have it and on antibiotics now.

For me think it's because one night was so exhausted must of held my bladder that why I have it now. Never normally do but must of been really exhausted.

Did anyone suffer a lot with UTI before pregnancy and during pregnancy?

I have interstitial cystitis which was a nightmare to get diagnosed, before I thought I kept getting UTI's but samples would always show no infection. I had a cystoscopy with biopsies taken from my bladder (which was a horrendous recovery) then started on monthly instillation treatment which have had to stop due to pregnancy.
I'm 12 weeks and only just heard a few days ago from the urine sample that was taken at my booking appt 4 weeks ago came back with an infection so now I'm on amoxicillin. I don't think this will be my last UTI and it's a nightmare cos I kept trying to explain I find it difficult to tell when I have one cos the interstitial cystitis symptoms are very similar, I didn't realise I had one when I have the sample at my booking appt. One midwife said I should have monthly urine samples checked since I could be unaware I have an infection, but all the others said just say when you think you have one (which would be all the bloody time!) or we'll only test again at 28 weeks... I'm just going to ask to do one regularly as I've had this one undetected for at least 4 weeks.

@Bunny2006

I do think it's more than just UTI.
Sorry to hear that your actually going through. Think I will speak to my midwife.
Really had do explain what's going here.

I've had a UTI constantly since 16 weeks (I'm now 27 weeks) antibiotics aren't doing anything so am having a scans to see if there is anything else going on.

I'm not worried just annoying more than anything!

I didn't have them before pregnancy but I had constant UTIs from weeks 21-31, only a long term course of antibiotics finally shifted it. It was horrendous.

They are the worst ever! Weirdly being pregnant was the one time I didn’t actually have one at all. Maybe because I was so conscious of drinking water all the time and didn’t have sex much 😂
