First period after miscarriage not arrived!

Hi all

I had the first bleeding from early mc (4-5weeks pg at time of mc) on 13th June - 19th June, then had tiniest bit of spotting from 20th-23rd June and then very light bleeding again from 24th-27th June.

I keep being told period should arrive 4-6 weeks after miscarriage but when do I start calculating from?? Is it the first day of bleeding? Or from when I got first negative preg test?

If I work this out from 13th then this time is gone and no period! And don't feel "periody". For context my period are normally very regular, every 4 weeks.

Male Doctor said you shouldn't ovulate before next period, when would you do another pregnancy test to rule this out feel like he doesn't know what he's talking about?

Please can anyone give me examples of their experiences?

Thank you in advance x

I wouldn’t worry.

Have you checked you’re not re-pregnant, would be the only thing.

I’ve just started a week late after a loss, but I “felt” like it was coming for the week previously.

Your body will get back on track.

Hi @LividLaVidaLoca, thank you for sharing your experience and really sorry for your loss.

I haven't tested as of yet but wasn't sure entirely if I am late or not because not sure when I should be counting my next period from.

Can I ask, was your period dated from the very start of mc bleeding?

X

You can absolutely ovulate before your first period after MC. There are people on here regularly who have become pregnant after MC without a period imbetween.

Best of luck to you 💐

@mummaxi
I have had 4 miscarriages, you count the first day of the heavy bleed from the miscarriages as cd1 that's what my consultant told me, and you can ovulat before your period returns I have known people to get pregnant again before a period, but over all your body will work its self out, you norm won't ovulate until you get a negative test so maybe worth doing s test just incase x

@Laurakiaora, thank you for that I didn't think it sounded right as my body was showing signs of ov about 2 weeks after my Neg pg test.

@Babyghirl, I'm so sorry for your losses ♥️ thank you for sharing that info I have been so uncertain, going by that I am 6 weeks post mc and no period.

Maybe time to buy some tests.

Thank you again x

@mummaxi
I'm now 17 weeks pregnant and all seems to be going good so far fingers crossed.

Hoppinggreen · 24/07/2022 08:26

I am sorry for your loss.
I had a mmc at 12 weeks and when my period hadn’t returned after 8 weeks I did a test and was pg again.
It was fine medically but quite hard psychologically, however she’s 17 now so it all turned out ok eventually

Hi @Hoppinggreen, so it definitely is possible to ov before the next period, the doctor I spoke to sounded like this was not his area of expertise but was giving advice anyway!

Thank you for sharing your story, I will likely test now!

I'll share my results once I have them
