Hi all, I’m currently 4 weeks pregnant after 2 mmc and it’s safe to say my mind is running away with me! From checking my lines are getting darker each day to resting as much as possible I’m not sure what else to do!

If anyone has been in a similar position and has some advice or any guidance to put my mind at rest I will really appreciate it!

I would love to get hcg bloods done and check my levels are rising, as I know they weren’t properly last time. I don’t think my local EPU will do it as I’m not classified has high risk until three mc. Has anyone had them done privately?

thank you in advance!

I am 4+5 today and constantly worried. I have a scan at 7 weeks so I’m just holding out for that and trying to keep busy. It’s really hard though, this limbo land. I just really want to know everything is ok. I’m googling every twinge!

calimc83 · 22/07/2022 22:15

@Nancy155 @pcoops29 same here ladies. 2 MMC in the space of 7 months. Currently 6 weeks pregnant. Have a scan next week at the EPU. The anxiety is unreal. More so for the scans as that's where I've always been told the bad news. Don't know how I'll get through this next week x

pcoops29 · 23/07/2022 06:26

It’s awful! I want to be happy and excited but I’m just so sure that something will be wrong. Is your scan private or at an epu?

@calimc83 same!! I booked a private scan for 6 weeks just so they can tell me everything looks like it’s progressing as it should even if it’s too early for a heart beat. Like you I’ve never had good news from a scan so the prospect of getting good news seems too good to be true.

I know the feeling I had a bad scan before and I can’t rest until I know everything is ok. My scan is at 7 weeks as we should see a heartbeat by then. I’ve read chances of miscarriage drop once you have seen a heartbeat so I’m really hoping that will make me abit happier.
part of me is so excited but then the other part of me won’t let myself get excited just in case! The weeks seem so long at the moment!

calimc83 · 23/07/2022 07:59

@pcoops29 mines with the EPU as managed to get a referral via MC clinic. I feel like it's too traumatic going back to the places I've had private scans and been told 'I'm sorry...' I actually dread those words...I'm also going to go on my own I think. Try and protect DH 🙈..also anxious that if I'm 7 weeks, I know technically I didn't conceive 7 weeks ago and if they tell me it's measuring behind that'll set me off as well! 😫🙈 x

calimc83 · 23/07/2022 08:00

@Nancy155 how long have u got to wait till yours? I darent get excited..not even worked out due date as too traumatic if it goes wrong x

Nancy155 · 23/07/2022 09:23

I’ve got 2 weeks to go until mine. This is an IVF pregnancy so they automatically do one at 7 weeks.
how is everyone feeling? I’ve been abit nausea today so I’m hoping that’s a good thing.

Babyghirl · 23/07/2022 10:00

@pcoops29
I can tell ya at the start I blanked it out had a scan every two weeks with the epu sfter 4 miscarriages it was awful, but I'm now just went in to my 5th month of pregnancy so 17+1 today and my worry has nit got any better, I have booked a private scan for Monday just for reassurance even thou I heart heartbeat with midwife on Thursday and all qas looking brilliant, best you can do girls is try your best to relax, I never told anyone until 2 weeks ago, I only told my dp at 11 weeks to sheild him incase it went wrong.

Cdoc · 23/07/2022 11:37

@pcoops29 I understand how you feel! I’m 7+2 after a mmc in May. I’ve already had some bleeding in this pregnancy and my GP referred me to EPU even though I’ve only had one miscarriage.

They did HCG bloods first and once confirmed the levels were high enough they did me a scan. They also prescribed progesterone due to the bleeding and 🤞🏼 8 days into using it and I’ve had no bleeding. I’m still absolutely terrified, especially this week as week 7 is when the baby stopped growing last time.

I’ve also booked a private one for 9 weeks. Definitely try and get an EPU referral even just for bloods 🤞🏼They’ve been great with me this time

pcoops29 · 23/07/2022 19:04

@calimc83 would your DH want to come with? And I get that! Last time they were telling me that maybe I had my dates wrong and that’s why the growth was behind but I KNEW my dates were right, so I just have everything crossed again !

@Nancy155 some Nausea on and off, but I’m full of cold so that’s added a layer to my fears 😂 have you had any other symptoms?

OP posts:
pcoops29 · 23/07/2022 19:06

Thanks @Babyghirl ! I think once you’ve experienced it once then the fear must just carry through the pregnancy with you. So envious of these people who have no idea what this side of pregnancy is like !

@Cdoc did you feel reassured once you had the scan? Did you approach the gp first and they referred you to the epu? Last time I was in there the nurse told me that next time I’m pregnant that I should just ring them saying I’m cramping or something so they could get me in for a reassurance scan, but I can’t do that as it just feels too much like tempting fate!

Cdoc · 23/07/2022 20:05

@pcoops29 yes I did to be honest. It didn’t last long though, I’m 9 days post scan and worrying again. I’m not sure what would help to be honest, so don’t be hard on yourself for worrying so much.
I did, I called the Gp and said I’d had some bleeding (which was true, 2 separate episodes one of pink blood and one of red on wiping). They didn’t even really ask any questions, the call lasted 30 seconds and I had the referral.
I would definitely give it a go and talk to your gp, given your history they might refer you anyway! Good luck

calimc83 · 23/07/2022 20:46

@Babyghirl oh wow how did u manage to keep it secret from your dp for so long?? X

calimc83 · 23/07/2022 20:48

@pcoops29 yeah he does. But I've found out before without him and then with him at the 2nd MC and I think it was somehow slightly easier without him? Not sure why though..urgh less than a week to go for me! I wish there was a way to tell right from conception whether this will work out or not 😬 x
