Reduced movement at 29 weeks

Over the last 24 hours I feel baby has been quieter than normal, up till now I have felt quite a lot and strong kicks in the evening but these aren't so intense now, but I can still feel baby intermittently. I'm just wondering at 29 weeks should I be ok with baby not moving so much/as strongly? & also if I were to go to assessment what checks would they do at this gestation? As I say, I can still feel baby but I've just noticed a bit of a change

Ring your midwife triage number and they'll ask you some questions, they might get you to wait or they might get you to come in and do a Doppler. Don't leave it though, it's always best to ring to be safe.

Any reduced movements you need to go get seen ASAP. They'd rather check you 100 times than miss a time.

They will connect you to a machine and you press a button when you feel the baby move. They will check and trace the heartbeat.

Please don't delay and go get seen. Everything could be fine but they will want to check x

Any change in movements need to be checked, call your midwife line and go in. They’ll put you on a monitor that can feel babies movements more clearly to see what’s going on.

Definitely call your triage or assessment unit, your midwife should have given you a number to contact.

How’s it going @mylion ?

mylion · 22/07/2022 21:22

@BuffaloCauliflower went in for monitoring today, thankfully not much to report as all looked fine, but they have me scheduled for growth scans too so that's reassuring! Feel a lot better just from having gone in too

So glad to hear everything is okay. And if you're ever in doubt get checked out, always! x
