20 week scsn

Can anybody tell me if the do cervix measuring at a 20 week scan, if no can I request it got my 17 week midwife app on Thursday so will ask then to, I have had abnormal cells removed so just would like it Che ked for reassurance.

Not as standard - if you’ve had a LLETZ or similar then you need booking into a different, internal cervical scan.

have you told your midwife that you have had cervical treatment? I told mine at booking-in and they referred me for the cervical scan (had it at 13 weeks)

I told mine, they said its not procedure now to check but had sn internal scan at 12+6 in the epu and they said it was nice and long, but will mention it tomorrow different midwife and ask them can I get it checked have had 4 miscarriages so I'm nervous about everything in this pregnancy never got psst 20 weeks.

If you had an internal scan and they said it was nice and long the sounds like everything has been done and there’s nothing to worry about :) mine is also long (about 4cm) despite a LLETZ so no further treatment needed

That has settled me abit, I thought it would be checked afew times but if its nice and long at nearly 13 weeks it should be OK then thank you. I only had cin1 so not much needed taken away.

I'm surprised. I was referred to the pre-term clinic at 17/18 weeks (now 21) to check the length of my cervix just because I had a colposcopy done. They didn't even take any cells.

I was scanned internally, cervix length measured (all fine) and they offered to either discharge me or to have a further scan if I preferred in a few weeks. I went with the further scan because why not? Extra checks can't be bad!

I'm surprised you've not been offered any checks. I'm in the SE.

I'm with the midwife tomorrow so I will ask for it to be checked and I won't take no for an answer, would that be cheeky of me lol or is it in my right for it to be checked.

The evidence doesn’t show any need for cervical scans if your cervix is long after 1 LLETZ procedure. In fact repeated internal scans can do more harm than good if not necessary. You don’t have the right to demand unnecessary treatment but you could always pay for a private scan if you were that insistent.
