Is my 12 week scan too close to my holiday?

So I'm going on a holiday abroad but my '12 week scan' falls directly in the middle of the trip. I've therefore been booked in for the 'dating' scan the day before I travel.
I hadn't really thought about it, but I've started feeling very anxious. What if I've had a missed miscarriage, or there's a problem and I'm finding out the day before I travel? Or what if I need to have another scan and then I'm away for a prolonged period of time?
The midwife who booked the appointment didn't seem to think it was an issue and wanted the scan to be as close to me going away (and being 12 weeks) as possible.
Am I being daft, or should i call the midwife team and rearrange the scan?
(this is my second pregnancy)

You could book a private scan before that to put your mind at ease?

How long are you going on holiday for?

Hey op, no advice but I'll be in the same situation. Could you move the scan to afterwards and book a private one 2 weeks before you go?

I think it's important to have that scan at a particular time, so they can best assess the NT etc.....or something like that 😵‍💫

So delaying it until after your holiday depends on how long you're away for?

I had my 12 week scan the day before we flew on holiday (this was a few years ago). All was good & off we went. In theory it shouldn't be a problem at all but totally appreciate what you're saying about what happens if a problem is picked up. It did feel a little bit stressful for the first couple of days just in case they'd called about the screening test, once we passed the cut off point for a call it was fine.I think I'd be more keen to get it done & hopefully anything can be dealt with on your return if needed.

I'd have the scan when it's due. You can always cancel the holiday if you need to.

This is a great idea! Will do that - thank you!

We're away for almost 6 weeks doing a prolonged trip to see family so can't really wait until I'm home
