Light spotting after sex, rhesus negative but been told no need for Anti D?

Hi Ladies!

I’ve explained most of it in the subject 😊.

I am 15 weeks and had very light spotting last night, just watery pink on the tissue… I’ve been told by the EPU that they wouldn’t give a anti D for spotting so light. Has anybody been in this situation? I had a bleed last pregnancy around 18 weeks and had an Anti D. Should I push for the injection or go with their advice because the spotting was so light? And the cause of it is known.

Any advice is appreciated thanks so much x

I called triage at 14 weeks to have it, they were more than happy to give it to me. Maybe you could call the maternity triage (it's supposed to be for 16 weeks plus here but they were happy to chat to me and bring me in for Anti d)

Thanks for your reply @Annny27 ! I called them this morning and they put me onto EPU, I think I should try them again, as I really can’t see why the EPU have said no 😔

If you say you are really concerned they may agree to it 🤞 @Moonladyx

I never had it for post sex spotting in my last pregnancy, was under consultant care, he did advise me to abstain though to avoid the need for anti D, in case it caused more than light spotting. This time I've abstained entirely, just to avoid the stress

I had a light bleed, not quite as light as yours admittedly, last pregnancy and they gave me the anti D straight away. I would push for it. xx

I called the triage again and they said I need to chase EPU for the injection, and to ask for the ward manager! That’s what I’ll be doing tomorrow morning. So surprised they’re saying no, however if I was 1 more week along I’d of had the injection first thing this morning. Shocking!
