Panorama test, or Harmony? So confused

I have had my results back from my 12-week scan and although they're not high risk, they're higher than I thought they'd be. I don't think we'd terminate for DS, but I'd like to prepare myself if that's what we're looking at. DH says the Panorama test is the most thorough - does anyone have any recommendations for London? And why is that better than the Harmony test? Different websites say wildly conflicting things!

My consultant recommended harmony so we just went straight for it.

I’ve not heard of Panorama so I can’t speak to the pros and cons, hopefully someone else more knowledgeable will be along shortly.

Thanks both! So difficult to know what the right thing to do is when there's so much conflicting stuff out there. Guess we can only make decisions based on the available information.

Womens Wellness Centre in Chelsea does Panorama. I believe they’re equally accurate for Downs if that’s what you’ve been told you’re at higher risk of, Panorama is slightly better for other rarer things though. However, Panorama bloods have to go to the lab in California so you’ll get a quicker result (which will hopefully put your mind at ease) with Harmony.

I had the Panorama test because I wanted the extra panel of microdeletions (which costs more). Plus there’s also a couple of extra standard things it tests for over Harmony.

As far as my research told me, it’s at least as good at identifying the main 3 conditions as Harmony.

However, the other results aren’t necessarily as accurate - I’ve read that false positives can sometimes be an issue with things like Turners, though I didn’t experience that, and the clinic assured me it had never happened to any of their customers before.

Despite being less accurate for predicting microdeletions, I still wanted the peace of mind.

Bloods went to California and it took just over a week for the results to come back.

I felt it was money well spent.
