Hi sorry for the long post but I've been spotting pretty much since I was 21 weeks pregnant. Every time I've had a lie down for a while I have a gush of blood when I get up to go to the toilet, so every morning etc. The last few days it's gotten worse I've been passing these blackish clots which are mostly stringy. It's so worrying but every time I go to get checked out baby is fine and they can't find where the bleeding is coming from. I can feel baby kicking and moving inside me so that gives me some reassurance but was just wondering if anyone else has experienced something similar? As much as I want to go to the hospital every time I see blood or a clot it isn't easy cuz I've got a 4 year old and it always happens at ridiculous times😩

When was the last time you were checked? What did they say? If it's gotten worse I'd definitely go back in. Totally understand the inconvenience (I had to go in the other while covid positive, 2 poorly kids at home as well 🤦🏼‍♀️) but it's just got to be done in some situations.

What plan have they put in place for you? Are you booked in for regularly CTGs or scans? I know going back in is annoying but much better to go back and be reassured then stressing and worrying as that won't be good for baby either.

I was last checked Monday, I was on holiday as well but they were so good, scanned me that day. It only got worse yesterday when I was travelling back home so couldn't do anything about it. Today it has slowed down. I have a scan Tuesday so unless it get's worse do you think I'll be ok waiting until then? I might give them a ring tomorrow for advice.

I'd give them a ring they might call you in or ask you to wait until Tuesday but always best to check

Hello OP,

Just checking in to see how you are doing. Please do get checked out but also do not worry yourself by fearing the worst. I have had a similar thing throughout my pregnancy and I'm now 29+4 so things can be ok even when you are bleeding. I have a thread further down about being 22 weeks and bleeding whilst on holiday. Feel free to have a read about what happened to me x

I have been spotting since 8 weeks. 27+6 today and it's just started again tonight. Seems to happen every 2-3 weeks for me. No explanation but now they're suggesting because I inject blood thinners it might be that causing it
Totally get not being able to get checked every time etc so worrying though each time

I'm having to stay in hospital until I've not been bleeding for 48 hours😩 It's my placenta partially covering my cervix which I thought it must be something to do with that. I hate the thought of staying here without my other son😭😭

@JMF95 I know it must be horrible being away from your kids I'd really hate it too, but ! You need to be there for your baby, you're in the best hands. I hope everything's okay

Hiddenvoice · 18/07/2022 17:38

I know it’s hard being away from your child but it’s honestly for the best! My placenta was blocking my cervix, I had to take it very easy, no bending, no strenuous exercise and lots of rest. Thankfully by 32 weeks it had moved and things became easier!

JMF95 · 18/07/2022 18:39

I'm really hoping it moves up🤞🤞 I can't stand this bleeding😭😩
