I know everyone says not to test but I’ve been nervous from previous loss. I’ve had solid lines like the top pic is yesterdays. Middle one was deffo lighter and that was first thing this morning with first urine so I freaked out and I’ve got a scan this morning at my local unit. Just took another one on off chance about an hour later and it’s a dye stealer?! Is that a good sign? Praying this time everything goes well for me! Anyone else had this and it been all ok? Thanks x

What’s a dye stealer?

Those are all good strong lines. Please stop testing.

All the best wishes for you.

I know I shouldn't test any more but I've just been so nervous about losing my pregnancy symptoms. I'm currently sat waiting to be seen and my early pregnancy unit so praying all is ok. Im not testing any more after today.

A dye stealer is when the test line is darker than the control line - steals dye because it's so strong. That's why I'm so confused. Last year when I had a mc it started with bleeding then my tests got lighter so I freaked out when my first urine test was lighter today. But the second one was very strong. I know I'm only making myself worry and I need to stop it's just so hard.

I get better lines with second morning urine, maybe your first wee was more diluted!

I had my scan this morning and they said everything was looking good and they saw baby and a heartbeat! So happy and I'm going to stop testing and relax finally! Thanks xx

Do the maternity units really give extra scans because a pregnancy test line is not as bold as another?

@parenthood1989 I'm going to assume you didn't mean to sound so rude and disrespectful. I lost a baby last year and it was a horrible time for me. The very kind ladies at the unit said if I conceive again and have any worries I can come back for reassurance. My symptoms I'd had to start with a few weeks ago had all pretty much gone and then I took the tests and was worried because last year when I had a miscarriage my tests got fainter and bleeding started so YES they did see me and were very kind and happy to put my mind at rest due to my history.

To be fair, @parenthood1989 's post wasn't particularly rude or disrespectful, and it wasn't clear that you had lost all symptoms. I also wondered why an early scan was done on the basis of one slightly lighter test.

Ok in my defence I read the OP and then your subsequent posts said you were 'nervous about losing your symptoms' which I took to mean you were worried in case it happened, not that you had lost them already. I didn't comment to be rude or disrespectful but taking your posts at face value it looked to me like you were being scanned because of the test colour not being as strong. I'm sorry if I caused you any upset but I wasn't being rude or disrespectful at all, I maybe misread you, but that was all.

I'm glad everything is ok, apologies again.
