Pregnancy and new job

I am about to start a new job (July 25th) and I have just found out I am pregnant, it is extremely early days and we don't want to tell anyone as we suffered a miscarriage last year.
I know I am protected by law but I am worried they will find a reason to let me go after my probation has come to an end.
Do I tell them now or just play dumb?
I know that I don't have to legally tell them until 15 weeks before my due date but I don't want to be sneaky and have them thinking I knew I was pregnant when they offered me the job as I didn't.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

I'm in a very similar position, was just over 3 weeks when my new contract landed in my inbox and now terrified I'll conveniently fail probation... 🙄I don't have a lot of advice I'm afraid but following to see what people say! Personally I'd play dumb and leave it until you're as far in as possible, I told my new boss as my partner [aka man who has never experienced discrimination] convinced me honesty is the best policy and I regret it. Is there a union you could join? They might just be a bit of extra backup. Good luck with it all I hope it works out ok!

I was in a very similar position with my first. I was about 6 weeks pregnant when I started a new job. I kept it as quiet as I possibly could and just played dumb - saying that it is was a complete surprise and that I found out after I started! I completed 6 months of my probationary period and then went on mat leave. I'm sure the bosses weren't best pleased but they never showed it and never made me feel guilty in any way.
I think I eventually told them when I was about 16ish weeks.

Personally, I would keep it quiet for as long as you possibly can.

Congratulations on the pregnancy and the new job!
