I’m 23 weeks pregnant and this is sooo TMI but I’ve noticed a weird and strong smell down there, it’s a bit like cottage cheese and it’s revolting. I’m using pantyliners everyday that I’m changing 2-3 times but the smell is still there! Normal part of pregnancy or something that needs to be checked out? I don’t have any itching, pain, cramps, spotting, weird discharge or anything like that. Just the nasty smell

Could it be thrush

Regenbogen22 · 12/07/2022 18:51

@dreamerkr didn't you post this exact thing like 2 weeks ago??
You went and had a swab.....what came out of that?

DockOTheBay · 12/07/2022 18:53

Not normal, get it checked by Dr

Could it be thrush without any other symptoms? That’s what I was thinking too, but the swab came back normal even though it was almost 2 weeks ago! Its horrible 🥺

Well then!

I mean, no harm either in buying a Canesten pessary and using that, see if anything changes. 🤗

Regenbogen22 · 12/07/2022 19:19

Ah that's good that there was no infection found.

As pp just said, try a thrush treatment?

dreamerkr · 12/07/2022 19:33

Thanks guys! I’ll get a canesten pessary and I have the cream at home top from the last time I had thrush so I’ll use that :)

Are you sure pregnancy isn't affecting your sense of smell rather than your intimates smelling?

TheWayoftheLeaf · 12/07/2022 19:35

Also check the used canesten isn't expired

dreamerkr · 12/07/2022 20:10

When I got my swab taken 2 weeks back, the midwife did say it could be my heightened sense of smell because she couldn’t smell anything. But now it smells stronger maybe? I don’t even know!

The canesten hasn’t expired :)
