Stomach bug in third trimester

Hi. I’m nearly 30 weeks pregnant and woke up with diarrhoea this morning which lasted a few hours then stopped. I’ve felt so sick all day but haven’t been sick, but I can’t stomach the thought of eating anything. I tried cereal but it made me start gagging, all I’ve managed is an ice lolly and regularly sipping water. DH however has been sick multiple times today so I’m wondering if we have the same thing. We went to a barbecue yesterday, I only ate one well done beef burger but he ate a lot more than me and was drinking alcohol too all while in the sun 🙄.
I’m worried about baby with me not managing to eat. I also have emetophobia (fear of being sick) so I think the anxiety of DH being so unwell is not helping matters and making me feel worse than what I do. I’m already having growth scans fortnightly as baby had dropped a centile, but I literally feel too unwell to eat right now.
Anyone have any advice, is there anything I can do and has anyone been unwell and not managed to eat in the third trimester? Baby is still wriggling lots.

Hugs

i had norovirus twice in my second pregnancy was rough! I was having growth scans too due to my first being small at birth. Don’t worry about baby ‘having dropped a centile’ on the scan, they can be super inaccurate.

keep hydrated in whatever way you can, bland foods (sickness is often worse when blood sugar is low), salt and vinegar crisps helped me. I was also drinking a protein shake because I couldn’t face food either (I made it with whole milk, big glob of pb, banana and protein powder) luckily I could sip that.

i hope you feel better soon, try to think positive, it’s v unlikely that a few days off food would affect your baby, only really under-eating over a long period of time would hamper growth.

Same as usual when someone has a sickness bug!! Stay hydrated, ice lollies or whatever. Eat whatever you can stomach.
