Struggling to get pregnant / ovulation advice

Hi,

I am recently married and now my husband and I are trying to get pregnant, but haven’t had any luck yet.

I am 26 and have been pregnant twice before in the last 5 years but had to end the pregnancies due to personal problems sadly (father is my husband now). My last termination was August 2021 which I was so unset about. I seemed to get pregnant so fast when I wasn’t trying and now I am trying I can’t get pregnant. (FYI I had my implant taken out April 2021).

My period the last 6months last been every 28-30 days and last 2-3 days, however in June my period was 5 days late. So day 14 of ovulation this today, the last 4 days I have been using ovulation strip morning & night and there is no sign of reaching my peak. Is it possible I have already ovulated as if my period wasn’t late?

The last 4 months I have been try to track ovulation and having plenty of sex when my ovulation Flo track predicts but no luck.

Be very helpful to hear your ovulation strip advice and if it’s possible to ovulate 3-8 days after a period.

thanks

Maybe try for one cycle doing an opk strip every single day post period, increasing to 2 per day from cd10. Get a big pack of cheap ones off Amazon.

Also try tracking your BBT (temping). You'll need a basal thermometer to 2 decimal places. Instructions for temping easily found online. The Fertility Friend app gives the clearest graphs imo.
Only temping will actually confirm ovulation.

Then at least you'll have a great overview for one whole cycle.

I don't have huge amounts of advice, and I'm sorry about your previous losses. What I will say is that when I was ttc last year there was a month where I just didn't ovulate - no positives on the tests, and none of the symptoms such as ewcm or then physical discomfort of ovulation. I found out that anovulation (a month where you don't ovulate) is relatively common and not indicative of fertility problems. I actually conceived cycle after the anovulatory one!

All I can say is keep tracking and learning to recognise the signs in your own body.

There's a conception area of MN, by the way, separate from pregnancy, so you might get more helpful answers if you ask MN to move this over there Smile

I feel your pain. The wondering if something is wrong and not knowing if it will all work out is a killer.

I have a similar cycle and always start using OPKs on Day 10 and consistently ovulate between day 14 and 17. However, two months in the last 9, I have not identified a peak when doing this so I assume I ovulated super early?! Not medical advice at all but just my experience!

wish you all the best with your TTC journey. X

If you’ve been using the Flo app only and relying on that for your fertile period it’s probably got it very wrong.
Have you been having regular sex every 2-3 days throughout your cycle?

AnnieHec · 11/07/2022 20:22

Been trying too, however maybe only 2\3 time when predicted. This been every day since 3 days after my period ended.

so my period ended on the 29th June, we had sex on the 4th July, straight after I notices egg white discharge when I went for a wee after sex, and it was very clear and stretchy, that’s what makes me think I ovulated 4 days after my period. Never seen sperm clear and stretchy before….

Have sex every 2-3 days should cover you anyway but using the cheap ovulation sticks twice a day in the middle of your cycle is also useful, u want the test line to be darker than control. Checking for egg white cervical discharge also works. The more times I’ve been pregnant though the more I’ve come to realise what works is having sex when you want sex….obviously because your ovulating your sex drive increases….I’ve fallen pregnant everytime this way rather than constantly tracking x
