Could you please confirm my baby's potty shot at 16 weeks 4 days.

Hi all, I had a gender scan yesterday and just wanted other people opinions as the sonographer wasn't 100% thank you.

I'd say girl because of the three lines ("burger") but then it does look a bit testicular somehow. 96% sure it's a girl.

I'd say wait just a while longer!
I had a gender scan at 14 weeks, they said it was a boy... 20 week scan and other scans later said it's a girl!
Sometimes it could be a boy but the organ hasn't grown enough for it to be properly visible yet. Similarly a girl's labia will be puffy in the early stages which may make it appear to look like a boy!

I can see why she wasn’t 100%….Did they say they’d bring you back for free to double check in a week or so? Mine did when they wernt 100% sure my last baby was a girl….she was tho x

Thanks for the reply. No they didn't say anything about another scan. I have my 20 weeks scan in a few weeks so will update then x

Looks girly to me :) but ask the sonographer if they can check at the 20 week scan too.

We got old we are having a boy yesterday 17+3 days, my 20 week scan is a few weeks away, I keep reading stories of how it can sometimes be wrong, what does everyone else think from our potty shot? How do they know it’s not just the cord 🤣

Looks like a girl to me! Keep us updated! I have my gender scan in a couple of weeks, I'm dreading if they're uncertain, I'm too impatient hahah!

@Ashleycanada There are no 3 lines which would indicate girl and the scrotum is quite clearly visible in that potty shot. Congrats!

There is no doubt that's a boy

I can never made anything out of scan photos but even I can see that's a boy @Ashleycanada 😁 congratulations!

The answer is they don’t know its not just the cord, and they don’t know if it’s a girl or a boy. Then can guess, then can even informed guess, but they don’t know, and they can so easily be wrong.

literally, you can hold babies of 16-17 weeks gestation in your hand, and look at them, with trained medical eyes, with no fluid or uterus or anything else in the way, not squinting at grainy photos, and it’s ridiculously hard to do anything other than guess. Trust me on this.
