Neither, both horrendous. Go to the Royal instead👍

Lagan Valley have got bad press recently as there are no doctors there if heaven forbid something went wrong, and you’d be rushed to either Royale or Ulster and that time of transfer is precious.

Can you even give birth at the Lagan atm? I thought they'd suspended all births there and redirected patients to the Ulster.

I'm not surprised, I turned up at the Lagan with obvious meconium in my waters and very slow contractions and they tried to send me home. Thankfully the midwife called the Ulster to double check that was the right call, and they told her to tell me to head there immediately and I was induced. The Ulster was fine like.

MLU’s are a great idea in principal, but if it’s a standalone unit your pain relief choices are more limited and it’s a pain in the tits if you need transferred. Happened to my sister going from the Mater to the Royal and she said it was the worst part of her labour.

Ulster because lvh doesn't have doctors, so they can't deal with all labours and you might need transferred... more can go wrong waiting on transfer

Hi op which one do you live closest to.

Unfortunately Lagan valley have suspended al births at the moment but you can still receive your maternity care and all appointments there. They have consultants who come on certain days for higher risk appointments or consultant care so don't worry about that.

I have used Lagan valley last year and will be using them again this time, the midwife's are all so lovely, they have plenty of time for you and it is never busy so no waiting about (felt more like a private experience to me and not a cattle market).
