So I'm having an elective C-section this time after an emergency one last pregnancy- out of curiosity has anyone been allowed to film their section? Or get the graphic photos? Haha

I know its not everyone's cup of tea but I'd live to be able to see the process and my own baby being born etc last time the first picture ls we git were once baby was cleaned up and put in scales

the HCA took photos on my phone of my CS. I had my phone on live mode which you can convert to a short video too.
they don’t allow you to look until the head it out but it’s one of my favourite all time photos and videos.

you can also ask for the screen to be lowered when they take baby out which we loved.

No video but my husband took photos of our son being lifted out (a sequence of 4 and in the early ones he’s ‘half in’). He looks supremely phased off ti be dragged out lol

i don’t show them to everyone but I really like them and am happy to have them.

The anaesthetist took loads of photos and a video of DS coming out, it's amazing. They dropped the curtain as soon as they started to lift him out. I can see inside the big hole in my body as well.

I'm very grateful that he did that for us, it's lovely to have, in all its mucky bloody glory!

We don't allow pictures or videos to be taken of the actual c-section at our trust, just of the baby once it's already out.

Get the screen lowered so you can see it.

DH filmed my sections. Some surgeons are more relaxed than others. DC3 the surgeon was happy for the whole thing to be filmed and was posing baby. DC4 they only wanted filmed to start once the head was being pulled out.

The anaesthetists have been great at taking family pictures too once baby had been placed on my chest.

Got pictures during csection, one of the midwife’s took them for us. Going to ask for a video this time I think 😁

I was going to ask for the screen to be lowered but realised I could see everything reflected in the overhead lamps. I then started feeling a bit queasy though so looked away! I had twins and would have loved to have seen them come out but everyone in theatre looked really busy so I didn't ask.

No phones were allowed in theatre with my 2 sections. Do ask ahead.
