Anyone planning a babymoon? or been on one recently? Thoughts of good places to go for a short-ish trip?
I'm lucky to be going to the Caribbean where my partner is from when I'm 19 weeks. We'll be going with his two teens who live with us full time and will be seeing dozens of family members who generally won't do things that visitors do, ie they like to sit at home and chat, so it's not a babymoon (I will still have daily escapes to beach/ forest). I have a few days holiday leave left this year so was thinking of going for a 4 or 5 day trip somewhere within easy reach of the UK maybe right at the end of the second trimester, at about 27 weeks.
I was thinking of maybe staying in the UK as this will be easier and (maybe) cheaper but it will be mid October so not very nice weather wise. I guess the possibility of a spa hotel/ cosy lodge with country walks could work though I'm not sure where. Otherwise it might be good to go somewhere that stays pretty warm like Greece. Any thoughts on where you went/ will go and why? How late you would consider going? I'm aware self employed partner will be feeling pretty broke after the August trip so want to leave it as late as possible after we return in early September.
I'm also thinking of places where we could stay with friends - we have friends in Sweden I'd like to see but maybe that's miserable in October. Anyway, thought it would be fun to think about this and distract myself from work/ house tasks today :)
