We're you induced first time and not second?

I'm just curious so bare with me and please don't give me unhelpful comments that I don't already know about baby will come when baby comes.

I'm just wondering what everyone else's subsequent pregnancies were like after they had an induction first time around. I know everyone is different but id like to hear from others so I can get a jist of some expectation.

Last pregnancy I was induced at 39+5 and baby came 39+6 as the pessary worked very fast for me. I had a sweep done at 39+3 and honestly if I had left it a few more days I think I would have gone into labour naturally.

I'm wondering if this pregnancy is likely to be overdue since I was induced and have no indication really of when he would have made an appearance. Also were your labours different if you weren't induced second time? I'm really trying to avoid it and want a natural birth but just don't see it happening with the amount of pain I was in last time.

Induced with my 1st because of reduced movements at 37+5. Gave birth bang on 38 weeks.

Second was spontaneous labor, born bang on 38 weeks.

My body seems to have just got 38 weeks as deadline now 😂

I was induced at 41+ 5 with my first (post dates).
My 2nd was a spontaneous labour at 40+3.

Induced with baby 1 at 40+7, labour was 40 odd hours and ended up a forceps birth.

had a sweep then my waters were broken with baby 2 at 40+7, baby was born 1hr and 6 mins later 😂

Induced first time at 38+2 and it was a lonnnnnng labour. Went into labour naturally second time around at 40+6 and it was 12 hours from first contraction til when he was out.

My spontaneous second labor was a breeze compared to my induction with my 1st. Waters broke while I slept and baby born 5 hours later. They say your body and muscle memory kicks in the second time round.

I was induced with both mine (42+2 and 41+3). 2nd was pretty fast though, so I wonder if she'd have come along of her own accord soon enough, but I was fed up!

My mum was induced with me (two weeks late), but not my two DB's. First was two weeks late (she claims hearing the news that Elvis had died started her labour 😆), and second a couple of days early.

Induced because of PROM at 37 +5 first time
(labour about 9 hours).

Natural birth at 39+6 second time
(about about 2.5 hours - yes - nearly born in the taxi!)

Both babies well and healthy, even the premature one.

Both, but because my dd was late and my ds 2/3 weeks early due to reduced movements

Actually, my first was induced at 42 weeks, but not born until 42+2. Only a six hour labour, just took ages for any induction method to get things going. They couldn't break my waters as his head was too low! 2nd much quicker, pessary at about 2pm, born at quarter to one after a three hour labour.

Oh wow you've all reassured me thanks so much! I'm fully expecting to be over due but I will go with it 😂😂

1st Induced at 37+6 due to preeclampsia

2nd arrived bang on 38, shot out like a bullet, DH was pleased the midwife was an ex rugby player 😆

3rd induced due to personal circumstances at 38 weeks.

Yep, best to go with the flow!

First was induced because waters broke but no contractions. I was already overdue. Had a ventouse delivery and third degree tears.

Second went into spontaneous labour and baby was born within 45 minutes of arriving at hospital. No tearing this time and a much better experience all round!

1st - induced at 40+12... two pessaries, waters broken etc ... DC1 eventually born at 40 + 15

2nd - sweep at 40 + 10. Born a few hours later

First was induced and second and third spontaneous labour.
Much better not being induced, not as hard on your body I think.
