Purposeful weight loss whilst pregnant?

Has anyone lost weight on purpose in really early pregnancy? I’m overweight and really wanted to be lighter than I am before being pregnant again .
Found out about our little surprise today so I’m literally only 4 weeks pregnant max - is it safe to lose a little weight in these early stages? I just want to be healthy for little one.

It's better to adopt healthy eating habits such as balanced meals and exercise habits such as walking, swimming or pilates if you can.

You don't need to aim for a weight loss, overall health is more important.

If you do end up losing weight as a result of this, it's fine as long as it's not rapid weight loss.

i am in the same boat - have started healthy eating, lots more walks, kicked the fizzy drinks and sugar habit, just wanting to eat healthy and nourish my body and baby. all att he advice of my doc. haven't lost heaps, but have lost a bit, and my doc is super happy with my progress so far :) good luck - take it easy!

Healthy eating and light exercise might be enough to lose some weight safely. I have lost some weight in pregnancy just after changing my diet due to gestational diabetes. Giving up all sugar, replacing white (refined) carbs with healthier low GI carbs and avoiding processed foods has made a huge difference. Whatever you do it’s still important to stick to a balanced diet (avoid things like the keto diet)
