Positive OPK on CD17 of 28/29 day Cycle?!

Hi everyone

I've been tracking my ovulation for the first time this month.

I have had EWCM for the last 4 or 5 days. Expected to ovulate around day 14 due to my cycle length. We DTD around ovulation.

Kept getting negative OPKs (was testing from CD10) but got some pains in my right side and slight period like cramping so decided to do an OPK and it's definitely the strongest line I've had.

Really confused, never usually get ovulation pains and just assumed I'd missed the LH surge. Anyone had this? So bizarre!

Attached a pic of my strips and you can see I just gave up!

Thank you!!

Not bizarre at all, Day 17 is a normal day to ovulate (at least it always was for me on a 28 day cycle)! Your positive OPK means you are having LH surge now so will ovulate in the next day or so. If you have been dtd last few days then you have a good chance of getting pregnant and you should dtd for next couple of days for an even better chance!

good luck 👍

Ah thank you very much for your response.

I was reading a few bits about it meaning you have a short LP which worried me but, as I said, never knew when I was really ovulating before.

It's weird as I've never had "ovulation pain" before. So wouldn't have tested otherwise.

DTD about 4/5 days ago and before (thinking I was ovulating around day 14). Thank god I did one as I never would have known!

Thanks again

I have mostly a 28-29 day cycle and usually ovulate on day 16-17. Currently pregnant 😊
