Silly pregnant reasons for crying today

So we all knew that the pregnant mood swings were going to be a thing, but my husband and I have found them actually hilarious at times, I just wanted us all to share some of these aspects of pregnancy. I'm 9 weeks along, and crying and losing my cool at the most random things.

For example:

  • I lovingly prepared myself beans on toast in week 8, only to spit out the first bite because it tasted like literal petrol. I then cried because I was sad about the beans, and cried when my husband got home from work 8 hours later, because I remembered about the beans

  • My husband asked me a question about my new bank card - cue hysterical crying and telling him to leave the house

  • I watched a news segment about a blind girl who is a para-rock climbing world champion, lots of tears

  • I needed to pee eight times last night, just sat up crying at 5am because I wanted to sleep but my bladder was having none of it

I could go on of course. What have been some silly reasons you've cried so far?

Haha. Best start to a thread I've seen on here.

I cried last night because a character died in game of thrones (I've seen it like 3 times already and knew it was coming)

Today I cried because JLo sang with her little girl in that documentary on netflix

I cried because my cat made a really cute face at me when I stroked his little chin.

I'm so sorry about your beans I'd probs cry at that too.

X

I cried earlier whilst exercising because it was hard... That is definitely a first for me (not the hard bit the crying). I thought now if my husband walks in and sees me literally bawling he'd think there was something actually up not "The exercise is hard"

Nearly cried because my mum took one of my McDonald's nuggets that I really wanted.

Cried because DP touched my foot by accident with a sweeping brush.

Cried because DP forgot my snack when he went food shopping.

DP is really taking the brunt of my hormones bless him 😅

The most memorable one for me when I was pregnant was going into floods of tears at the cinema because they hadn't turned the slushee machine on.

I had serious cravings for sour cold stuff and had been thinking about the lemon slushee for days, I could very nearly taste it, couldn't care less about the film I just wanted the biggest cup of lemon slushee I could buy and they hadn't turned the machine on.

Poor guy behind the counter didn't know what to do with himself 😂

When I was pregnant I cried because Freddie Mercury is dead and his friends miss him.

I remember crying because my husband drank all the orange juice from the fridge and didn't put another carton in the fridge and I didn't want warm orange juice, about 10 minutes of crying

My husband pretended to be disappointed with me for not wanting wine gums so I hysterically cried on the phone

I couldn't find my leggings so got really stressed and upset, crying on the bed, then realised I was wearing my leggings so cried about that

I had my baby girl 8 weeks ago, and I still cry about random things! Bloody hormones take a while to settle down. Day 3 post partum was where it all went down hill, prepare yourselves for that as I didn't believe others when they said day 3 is the start of the hormonal weeks post partum, and to expect it until around 22 weeks 😥😳

I cried when I realised that we were near the goat farm and my husband refused to turn the car around so I could go and pet a goat.

I was never a crier but I remember when I was about 7 months gone and I dreamt I gave birth to a black cat
i remember my mate (in the dream) handing the cat over and telling me ‘better luck next time honey’
i woke up and cried for about 3 days
I still can’t look at cats without remembering it
my mate thought it was the best thing she’d ever heard when I told her (through some very snotty tears)

Went to see the new Jurassic Park film and cried Spoiler when the mummy dinosaur got reunited with her baby.

My boyfriend was making pancakes the other morning and jokingly said they were all for him and he wasn’t making me any. Cue hysterical crying because I wanted pancakes and felt left out

Disgruntledpelicanlady · 04/07/2022 23:13

Around 6 months pregnant I remembered that dogs die and spent about 30 minutes sobbing hysterically while squeezing the dog cause I was so sad she was going to die.
She is 7 years old and in perfect health so I have no reason to think it's imminent! Poor thing was really confused but she's lovely enough that she went along with it.

Alfixnm · 04/07/2022 23:21

I cried because John Bishop's dog died. Then I cried telling someone else about John Bishop's dog...

I also tried to befriend a fly and suggested we give it a name and keep it as a pet. That was the mothering instinct kicking in I think. Those hormones are strong!!

20 weeks in and the only time I’ve cried is when Billy Connolly got the lifetime achievement award at the BAFTAs. So sad seeing him deteriorate!

MissKittyFantastico84 · 05/07/2022 14:01

My worst one was on a short trip to the local shop for lunch with a thankfully good friend of a male colleague.

Half way back to work I started crying because we were only half way of the way back to work.

Bless him. Poor guy.

madeinthe80z · 05/07/2022 15:17

I cried at the weekend in a soft play listening to a random kids birthday celebrations thinking about how my daughter will have so much fun at her party (which I still need to bloody organise!!)
