Has brown discharge led to miscarriage for anyone?

As per the title...my anxiety has gone through the roof again, even though i know brown discharge can be normal and nothing of concern, but i cant help but worry a miscarriage is pending. Im 7 weeks today and had atleast half panty liner full of brown discharge. I dont have any cramps and did experience my first sickness yesterday.
I would like honesty if anyone has experienced lots of brown discharge and if this did lead to a miscarriage, i apologies in advance if this is difficult for those who have suffered 💕

Thank you x

Yes, unfortunately. 2 days of brown discharge and then the bleeding started. Was between 6 and 7 weeks.

Was difficult at the time but got pregnant again quickly afterwards.

HSKAT · 03/07/2022 17:48

I had this and went on to have my son.

tirednessbecomesme · 03/07/2022 17:50

Yes unfortunately brown spotting/bleeding always meant impending miscarriage for me

StellaGibson2022 · 03/07/2022 17:56

I had brown discharge for a missed miscarriage but also brown discharge for my 8 and a half year old DC.

If worried the Early Pregnancy Assessment unit might be worth a visit.

Mine resulted in the nine year sat next to me now eating pizza.

Same here. I bled pretty much the whole way through my pregnancy (brow, pink and red). No one knew why. Healthy 10 year old dd - although she was 4 weeks early. It was such a relief when she was here safely. There's no guarantees but hope isn't lost either

Oneforposy7 · 03/07/2022 18:19

Yes, unfortunately for one of the 3 I had brown discharge for a few days before bleeding started. But also had bleeding with DD who was fine.

Flederjo · 03/07/2022 18:23

OP as you can see and as you probably knew, it can go both ways.

Can you get a scan or have your HCG levels tested twice, 48 hours apart?

Cakecakecheese · 03/07/2022 20:07

I had the brown discharge and the stuff that looks like coffee grounds. It turned to red a few days afterwards.

I hope you have a positive outcome.

Thank you all for replying. I am so sorry for your losses. I am grateful for the information as i feel more aware it can go either way. I guess its jus a waiting/monitoring for now.. It seems to have eased but will monitor. I have been EPU on Thursday due to spotting, loss of symptoms, cramps and back aches. The scan thankfully showed good heartbeat and no concerns, they couldn't pin point why the spotting occur (brown then dark red). However i did measure 2 days behind ( i got told this is normal) It all stopped the following day and then symptoms came back very strong. I started vomiting yesterday and breasts felt like they had weights in them. Then now this brown bleeding (which now seems to jus be minimal spotting, no cramps) . Symptoms have subsided a bit today, not as strong.

It could be old blood from your previous bleed but give the epu a ring if you're worried. I found pregnancy really scary. I just wanted a little window to check on her

blibbyblobb · 05/07/2022 17:00

I had another brown bleed with slight cramps yesterday morning then nothing for the last 24 hours.. Symptom intensity has reduced.. I feel slightly nauseas and breast feel slightly heavy but nowhere the intensity it was before the spotting

I really do not find my local EPU referral process helpful as last time was in a +e for 5 hours before they sent me to EPU and then had to return two days later for a scan.. I think im just going to see how this week goes.. 😑

Yes, brown became pink, then red. 6 weeks.

Leftie202 · 08/07/2022 23:20

Yes. However, I’ve also had brown discharge, even blood and gone on to have healthy babies.

Ishacoco · 08/07/2022 23:29

How are you doing OP?

zeromango · 08/07/2022 23:44

Yes sadly for first pregnancy, BUT with my latest I had brown spotting which resulted in a full term pregnancy best of luck OP ❤️

@blibbyblobb so pleased for you! 😀 I have been reading your thread as I have been experiencing similar when I wipe on the toilet! I’m 6 weeks tomorrow so unsure whether to book a scan.

cottagegardenflower · 09/07/2022 11:39

I had brown and red blood, and still had a healthy pregnancy.

hollyanna87 · 09/07/2022 17:53

I had on off brown spotting between 5 and 7 weeks. Am now 18 weeks, all is good!

queenie2016 · 09/07/2022 17:55

I had this plus bleeding at 15 weeks onwards she just said it was my cervix being aggravated the first time it happened I was hysterical please go to the maternity unit and they'll do a scan and check you over x

queenie2016 · 09/07/2022 17:55

Everything was fine thou and it stopped around 24 weeks

Misty1990 · 21/07/2022 16:53

This morning I started having brown discharge when I wipe at 6 weeks. My early pregnancy unit will not scan me as I had a private early scan 3 days ago which showed baby had a strong heartbeat and no other issues. Due to go abroad on Sunday but no petrified somethings going to happen.
