Thrush - cuts not healing

Hi all,

I’m 18 weeks pregnant and have had thrush since after my ERPC in feb (was given antibiotics)

I was hoping it was just going to go away like it usually does around my period. but nope.

I now have several cuts down below which reopen so easily when wiping or just touching etc.
Discharge is still clumpy.
Still itchy if I forget to use canestan cream.
Cream seems to only soothe external symptoms.

Used pessary once a few days ago. Still using cream. So using organic coconut oil too.

Feeling really down about the cuts as it feels like they’ll never leave me alone!

Has anyone else had these cuts and what should I do? Please help!

Hi @mzlk I can't help with the cuts, but if you've had thrush for so long then you absolutely need a longer course of pessaries. The cream won't get rid of anything internally. I mean like a week's worth of pessaries. I think you'd need a prescription for that.

I feel for you as I’m a long term thrush sufferer and it’s miserable! If you’re still getting the discharge and itchiness though then it sounds like you’ve still got the thrush. The cuts will struggle to heal if you’ve still got all the irritation. Speak to your GP and they’ll probably prescribe you a course of pessaries rather than just a one off. One pessary alone never worked for me, I had to take one a day for seven days to clear it.

Thank you for your replies!
Have a phone appointment booked for this afternoon with my GP
Hope they agree to give me a longer course.
I thought it had been cleared but the itching is quite bad again today

Ah man. I had thrust on and off throughout my entire first pregnancy. You need a 7 day course of lower dose pessaries to beat it into submission.

much sympathy from me to you.

Will be picking up my prescription today - was given a 7 day course or pessaries! Hope it works
Thanks everyone!
