Bump in car anxiety spiking

First off, I'd just like to preface this with the fact this is my second pregnancy and I was anxious with my first. Sadly, my first has developmental delay, so where most mums get less anxious second time round if anything I'm more

This morning went to reverse out my drive. I didn't see the fucking bin men had left our bin instead of at the side where I left them right in the middle of drive. Banged into them at low speed, no damage to car type thing. Wouldn't even cross my mind again if I wasn't 12 weeks pregnant.
No bleeding, possibly a slight spine twinge but could be from anything.

Called midwife, they said they couldn't do bugger all really other than wait for scan in a week.
Husband thinks I'm being silly, but have no idea how to frame this and can't stop worrying.
😭

Your baby is still tiny and super well protected in there, plus you only lightly bumped a bin and didn't even damage the car. I wouldn't worry in the slightest.

Thank you, that's what my husband said too but I'm finding it hard keeping worries I'm proportion.

Hi OP

first off, sending you a big squeeze! Completely understand your worry.
if it will make you feel any better , I did some googling and found this:

”Because baby is so tiny in the first trimester, there's virtually no risk to them with abdominal contact or trauma. It's not impossible to have a negative outcome, but it would be rare unless the injury was severe. The risk increases a bit in the second trimester, as your baby and stomach start growing more.”

the sentiment was reflected in all the other articles and websites I opened!
Baby is so small and so well protected in there, it is absolutely fine! x

I went on dodgems before I realised I was pregnant. Shes 9yo now, bit of a speed demon but I think that's a coincidence!

They are really well protected.

Thank you, have put my mind at rest a little bit.
Hopefully can report back good news after my scan next week.
