Gynecologists thinks im miscarrying

Hi, me again!

6 weeks 5 days today, i noticed a sudden loss of symptoms for few days then one day they came back for a day and then total loss now for another three days. I had one day of bright red spotting then dark red then nothing. I have on/off back pains and mild cramps and generally feel like i'm going to start my period without the intense cramping. I saw gynecologists yesterday who persummes im miscarrying due to loss of symptoms and spotting but cant confirm until my scan, which is on Thursday. I cant help but think spotting and loss of symptoms are normal but i have read they have been start of many miscarriages too. I dont feel too hopeful, and started to come to terms that it could potentially be a miscarriage.

I am scared as my previous miscarriage 6 years ago gave me PTSD.

I guess im jus look for some advice on anyone who has had similar experience or just a hand hold as i have not told anyone apart from partner and mum about this pregnancy

I can't advise on the spotting, which I never had. But I had terrible cramps throughout all 3 of my pregnancies. Cramping are not necessarily a sign of miscarriage, they can also be the result of your uterus stretching.

I also know people who had terrible bleeds and perfectly healthy babies (look up sub choronic hematoma).

There is hope but you just won't know until you know. And the wait is awful.

I have everything crossed for you.

I had 6 pregnancies, was never once sick, had occasional mild nausea. I had bleeding in early pregnancy in 5 of the 6 pregnancies. 3 times it was fine, twice it wasn't. The one pregnancy without any bleeding, my last, was just after treatment for low vitamin D. I advise women to take a supplement before trying to get pregnant now... can't do any harm and might do some good.

I'm so sorry you're going through this. Honestly, your symptoms are very normal for a healthy pregnancy, although they could also be a sign of miscarriage. I'd also brace yourself for no certain outcome at the scan, it's relatively early so they may no be able to confirm whether you're miscarrying. Sorry, I just want you to be aware because that limbo land when all you want is certainty is horrible.

Op just want to say I'm in a similar boat, am bleeding today and having cramps, we went to hospital and they gave me a scan which showed a baby the right size with a heartbeat. I'm 6+2. I'm very reassured by this but I've continued to bleed since and they couldn't see a cause for the bleeding. So I'm also petrified I'm about to lose the baby, or already have. It's a horrible position to be in. I hope the scan gives you reassurance x

Thank you all for your messages. Its good news baby is fine with nice HB 💕

@skylark1990 this is exactly what I have been told today. Im actually 6 weeks 4 days and they are unsure why spotting id happening .. I think the anxiety will always be there but ive decided to take it one day at a time and enjoy each day.. If its meant to be its meant to be.. I really don't want to go through another pregnancy unable to enjoy it due to anxiety. Wishing you a healthy journey too 💕

That's great news @blibbyblobb ! I am still having some bleeding and cramping so feeling rubbish even after seeing the heartbeat. I hope it stops soon. Good on you deciding to be positive xx
