Baby measuring small, should I be worried?

Hi all,
Had my 20 week scan (second pregnancy) and was told baby's head and abdomen circumferences were measuring small. I've been referred to have a uterine Doppler scan- I had this same issue with my first who just turned out to be a petite human like myself. The only bit that's concerned me is that I'll be seeing a consultant straight after the Doppler scan? I didn't have this last time. I did ask what a small head and abdominal circumference suggests but the sonographer didn't really give me much. Just getting anxious. Would appreciate advice from anyone who's had similar.

My daughter was measuring small, I had to go for extra scans and see a specialist etc and she turned out to be 7lbs when she was born. I measured small and my mum stayed in hospital for 5 weeks before I was born, I was 6.1lbs but I'm also now 6ft tall...

I know they have to take precautions with things like this but I would try to not worry about it until something absolute comes up, chances are it won't and the baby will be absolutely fine!

Congratulations :)

Throughout my pregnancy with DS1 I was told I was measuring small, worried the bejesus out of me. He was 6lb 13oz and now 14 years later is nearly 6 foot. As long as baby is healthy don’t worry too much 😊

Everyone I know (including myself) have been told their baby was measuring small. Everyone I know (including myself) has gone on to give birth to a baby weighing in excess of 7lbs 😂Mine was 8lbs - was sent for continuous scans and told she was going to be tiny.

Sorry you are worried OP. I had the doppler scan as part of my 20 week scan and it was way out of the normal range, I didn't however got told I needed to see a consultant and just got booked in for some extra growth scans at 28, 32 and 36 weeks. They didn't seem overly concerned (although I naturally am!) my baby was also measuring small. Mainly passing this on so that you know I did actually have a bad doppler result and they still aren't too concerned, it is great you have the opportunity to speak to a consultant about it afterwards, I will be really interested to hear how you get on/ what they recommend.
