Cervical stitch - removal experiences?

I'm booked in to have my cervical stitch removed this time next month (fingers crossed!). I understand what happens in terms of the actual procedure, but can anyone share their experience of what else to expect? I know I'm going to the labour suite for it to be removed, but what happens after that, do I just stay there being monitored until either I go into labour or they're happy that I won't? And how long should I expect to be there for?

Hello, not sure if this is a late reply. But I literally just got back from the hospital after having mine taken out. Can't say my experience was very straight forward, took about 45min to remove. But after they just monitor babies heart and movement, make sure your waters don't go and then that's it you free to go.

All in all I was there about 3 hours. They also check and monitor baby before they do the procedure.

@Kaylee95 thank you so much, that is super useful to know! Fingers crossed you get a couple of stitch free weeks before baby makes an appearance 😊

I really hope so too or to wait untill next week at least. My other half tested positive for covid this morning so I had to go alone and I won't lie was super worried my waters go and I'm on my own. So if she comes next week that will be okay as long as my other half can come with. All the best of luck to you.
