Cycle length

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone could help I want to know how a 28 and a 32 day cycle can affect the stages in pregnancy.

I have a 32 day cycle and believe I am 6+1 days. I had an early scan yesterday and a yolk sac and gestational sac was present. The nurse said it's very normal as my cycle length is slightly longer. They will rescan me again next week.

Thanks

It's because of the odd way of dating pregnancy from the first day of your last period and ignores the fact that with a longer cycle length you likely ovulated "later" than someone who has a 28 day cycle. Do you track ovulation?

If your period dates you at 6+1 based on your last period but you ovulated say 4 days later on average than someone with a 28 day cycle then in theory that would put you more like 5+4 so not seeing a fetal pole would be fine

@couldishouldigoforit thank you. That's a bit more reassuring. I have a scan booked for next Tuesday where I am looking forward to seeing progress :)
