Hi guys,

on Friday I had a urgent hcg blood test done

I have phoned the doctors today to ask for my results and the receptionist said the doctor has put “normal no further action” ?

what does this mean am I pregnant or am I not pregnant? Has this happened to anyone else?

You will need to ask the receptionist for the level, or an appointment with a clinician who knows the context. ‘Normal’ hcg could mean not pregnant, or any level of positive depending on the context the doctor filing it had available.
Silly question but are you pregnant?

ie Is this a blood test to see if you are newly pregnant or not, or are they tracking it to see the doubling time etc and expecting a particular value?

why did you have the HCG test done? do you know you're pregnant and were checking on symptoms or? Either way, you definitely need to get clarity from your doctor's surgery.

Erm....did you ask her when she said it?

Depends on your reason for having it done??

To see if a pregnancy is viable/progressing you need to have 2 tests done 48 hours apart to look for doubling of HCG. One test is a bit pointless if that was the reason...
