Pregnancy bras - when did you buy new ones? And how many did you buy?

I’ve always been fairly flat chested at 32B, I’m now 15 weeks pregnant and already at a 32DD (or maybe bigger). I’m wearing a stretchy material 32D I bought a couple of weeks ago, but it’s already too tight and painful.

The issue I have is that I’m wasting a lot of money on bras - my Mum is very large chested and I don’t really know what size they’ll end up as they are changing so quickly.

Did anyone else experience something similar? Do you have any bra recommendations? Thanks!

I really like nursing vests with inbuilt support for pregnancy/post-birth. Asda ones are really good.

I’ve bought some wireless bralettes from primark, they come in a pack of three for I think £15. I wear a medium and I’m currently an F cup and pre pregnancy had a 32” back. They have more than enough stretch in them to be really comfy.

My ribs just seemed to continue to spread and I felt like I was constantly buying bras.

Lucky to work from home so I basically stopped wearing them, used bra extenders, or got nursing tops with inbuilt bras that provide a tiny bit of support.

I bought some maternity bras from Amazon that have the extender on the back. Can also be used for nursing - they are great and quite cheap. I saw online yesterday that Matalan are doing them too

Go for stretchy and comfortable - now is the time to bin underwires! I have big boobs and a small chest, so really struggle, but I just got these on SHEIN and they are fantastic - I’m a 30F and I got a medium, probs should have gone for large as I know I’ll get bigger once my milk comes in. But they have 4 or 5 double hooks on the band, so they’re really adjustable.

I'm 25 weeks and since early pregnancy, I've been wearing primark bralets. I bought a pack of 3 for around £8 and they are so comfy.... I dont think I'll actually wear a bra again! They have no wires, they do come with padding which I took out, the material is stretchy. I don't think you need to pay a lot for something comfy and practical. I've actually just bought some nursing bras off SHEIN for half the price of some super markets so will see how they go!

Thanks for the advice everyone! On the bralettes … would you recommend I get a small or a medium size? On websites/ordering online I’m finding it tricky to work out sizing. I also want to leave some give in case I change size again.

If I measure under my bust it’s 28 inches, if I measure the fullest part of my bust it’s 35.5 inches (I know I should be wearing a smaller back size but they feel too tight to me)

These are excellent. I'm a 32GG without pregnancy - goodness knows what I am now, but definitely larger than that! I buy these in a large purely for coverage and they are still supportive and extremely comfortable - I've slept in it a couple of times. No wires or straps to adjust and no faffing with hooks or clips! Obviously it doesn't create any lift, but there is enough support for me not to notice.
