Worried taken too much Vitamin D, have covid and 6 weeks pregnant

Hi. I'm 6 weeks today and tested positive for covid on Fri. I've luckily had it relatively mild and been able to rest a lot. I've upped my vitamin c intake to around 2000mg a day (which I know is considered safe) and also been taking extra vitamin D (about 5000-6000 ui per day the last few days) as I've read a lot about how this helps fight off covid infections.

I'm now worried I've been taking way too much vitamin D! I would normally only take up to 2000iu but I thought because of covid maybe I need more. I'm really hoping taking more for a short time won't harm the baby. Does anyone have any experience of this themselves? Do we think it's ok? I'll go back to taking less from today... I've already taken 4000 today and my prenatal has 600 in so maybe I shouldn't take the prenatal today.

I've had two early miscarriages this year so a bit worried! Am also stil Breastfeeding so thought maybe body needs more.

Any experiences of advice welcome. Tia x

Hello! I take 5000iu vitamin D every day and I took that throughout my whole first pregnancy in 2018/2019. I checked with a midwife at the time and she was happy it wouldn’t be harmful. I have just found out I’m pregnant again and I plan to take the same amount still. I also take 1000mg vitamin C daily… and you’re right that’s fine too… the excess just gets peed out by your body. I hope that helps!
