Pregnancy - Gender

Was sick, sick, sick with both my DSs, mostly throughout entire pregnancy. Am PG again and feeling exactly the same, no difference.
Have all your PGs been more or less the same and did you have same gender each time? Have strong feeling this is another boy (which is great) but was just wondering if some PGs can be all the same with result of different genders.
Thanks.

Nausea, heartburn, slow baby's heart beat with ds1.
Second pg - worse sickness for longer, carried totally differently, baby's heartbeat faster (supposedly all signs of a girl) - result? ds2.

Divastrop · 15/01/2008 20:41

i was very sick with ds1 but with dd1 i just felt queasy and didnt actually puke.the same happened with ds2 and dd2.i was convinced dd3 was a boy untill my scan though as i was pukey for the first 14 weeks with her.

another thing was the weight gain.with the boys it was all in the front, but dd1 and dd2 seemed to grow in my bum first.again,dd3 broke the mold there.

i knew ds1 was going to be a boy before the scan, and i knew dd1 and dd2 were girls before the scan, but i got it wrong with ds2 and dd3.3 out of 5-not bad

never even thought about it with ds1
REALLy sick with dd
not at all sick ds2 knew he was a boy
same with ds3 knew he was a boy despite tachicardic heartrate
ds4 sick as a dog and out popped another boy

MuffinMclay · 15/01/2008 20:49

I had horrible morning sickness with ds1. This time next to no sickness at all, but I am told this one is a boy too.

pucca · 15/01/2008 20:50

I felt MUCH sicker and was actually sick quite alot when pg with my dd, ds was less so, just felt a little off nothing major.

I sort of "knew" with both of mine, especially my ds as i felt much more different. With my dd i just kind of knew it was a girl - also had a vry vivid dream she was a girl (early on in pregnancy) with lots of black hair...she came out with more hair than me lol.

Also when i think about it now, the theory was true with me, my dd was concieved early in my cycle as they said she measured bigger than i thought, and with ds i concieved late in my cycle and i wasn't as far on as i thought. Weird

ChaCha · 15/01/2008 20:54

That's interesting Pucca.
I think all DC have been conceived just after mid cycle. I just soooo have a feeling this is another boy, what do you do with 3 boys under 3? [oh boy]

3 boys under 3 would be lovely! they will be good mates and be close.

I am debated if we should have another or not...i am scared! lol, i have dd - 4yrs and ds 17 mth.

Divastrop · 15/01/2008 21:00

i have never been pregnant and had 2 toddlers/babies.now that is something else!

anyway,i dont find having 5 any more stressful than having 2.which was incredably stressful.

PaulaYatesBiggestFan · 15/01/2008 23:35

I think that different pregnancies can all be same or similar and result in different genders, and they can also be completely different and result in the same gender. I was talking to the sonographer about this when I was pregnant. We were having a discussion about the old wives tale about if you carry a certain way you are having a boy/girl. Apparently though, or so I read, if you have two of the same gender by the same partner, you are more likely to have that gender again as that gender sperm is probably the strongest. Don't know how true this is though, because there are loads of people who have two girls/boys and go on to have the other.

whomovedmychocolate · 17/01/2008 21:19

Funny, I was wondering about this as I've just stopped vomiting (am 12+1) and I wasn't think bad with DD. I think this one is a boy though. Not terribly pleased as only own pink baby things

PortAndLemon · 17/01/2008 21:26

This one is a girl, and the pregnancy's been more or less identical to my pregnancy with DS (except that I got heartburn earlier this time).

wb · 18/01/2008 03:19

I was convinced I was carrying a girl this time round cause I couldn't believe 2 'boy' pregnancies could be so different. The 20 week scan thought different though

AussieSim · 18/01/2008 03:47

I have two DS's and now a DD in the works, but I didn't have morning sickness with any of the pregnancies. I say wait for the 20 week scan to find out for sure the gender - I rely on science I used to tell everyon who was trying to guess the gender or get me to guess the gender before the scan. Actually I just figured that on track record I would have another boy and so I am still adjusting to the idea of a daughter.
