Fainter lines?

Hi! I’m 8 weeks pregnant with my first and still finding everything so overwhelming (in a good way). I have my first midwife appointment next week but have been doing tests every so often for my peace of mind. I have done two today because for some reason (I don’t know if it’s my imagination) the positive lines seem lighter than they did when I first got my positive tests at 3-4 weeks. Is there any reason for this? I’ve heard of the hook effect but I’ll admit I don’t really understand it. The first picture is of the tests from when I first found out I was pregnant and the second picture is from tests I did today. What does everyone think?

Past 6 weeks you can have the hook effect- basically dilute your urine with water and test again, the line should be darker that way

Thank you so much! I wasn’t sure what it meant but I will definitely do that. Thank you!
