Negative Pregnancy Test after Positive?!

Hi all,

Myself and my partner have been TTC for 7 months and received a positive pregnancy test (digital) on Monday. This morning, I have received two (what appears to be negative) HCG strips and 1 clearblue dating 1-2 weeks (so 3-4 weeks). According to when I last had my period, I should be 4 weeks + 4 today. Does this mean I'm going to miscarry?

I've phoned the local midwife who has advised me to test again in 1 week.

I think the midwife's advice is reasonable. The two negative strips from today contradict the digitals, so either some tests are dodgy or your HCG is falling such that the strips didn't pick it up anymore.
I wouldn't pay much attention to the weeks indicator, they cause a lot of stress.

It sounds like it could be a chemical pregnancy, but it's really and unfortunately just a waiting game. Maybe test again on Sunday or Monday morning with FRERs, if your period doesn't show, and next week again.

Hi OP, I've been where you are and it's such a confusing time. The midwife's advice is spot on, as frustrating as it is. Only time will tell.
Unfortunately, I've never had an ongoing pregnancy when I've had fluctuating tests results. But, some tests are more sensitive than others so it could just be they're not picking up the HCG the same given how early you are. Also, I'd not pay any mind to the 'weeks' on the digitals. Good luck OP.
